Raiders of the Serpent Sea Character Sheet (A5)
I will be starting to play in a new Dungeons & Dragons campaign soon(ish), and one of the things I always wanted to improve about my own DnD experience was the character sheet. The basic DnD one is too unflexible for me, and even though I really always wanted to re-make it in InDesign, I never had the patience for it during past campaigns. The last campaign that I played, which was Ancient Greek-themed, actually came with a gorgeously beautiful themed character sheet – Odyssey of the Dragonlords. That one I did import to InDesign, and filled it out in there.
However, it’s time for a new campaign, and since we’re playing the spiritual successor to Odyssey of the Dragonlords, I wanted to have a thematic character sheet again. This campaign is viking-themed and by the same makers: Raiders of the Serpent Sea. However, the makers didn’t provide a themed character sheet for this campaign yet, so I took this matter into my own hands, and created my own character sheet from scratch in InDesign. Many, many, many hours went into the making of this, and it would be a shame if I were to be the only person to use it, therefore I would like to share it here:
- Raiders of the Serpent Sea Character Sheet – Full Caster / Non-Caster. This version is ideal for any character that is a full caster (e.g. Wizard), or that is fully melee (just leave out page 5 then).
- Raiders of the Serpent Sea Character Sheet – Half Caster. This version is nice for half-casters like Rangers or Paladins, because those only get spell slots up to level 5. But obviously, they may also just use the full caster sheet.
This character sheet is optimized for A5, rather than the usual A4 / Letter sized character sheets. The PDF is fully fillable. I would however, recommend to NOT use the radio buttons in the PDF, as they can only be reset by wiping the contents1 (a rather stupid property of Adobe Reader / Acrobat).
It also uses the new exhaustion rule from DnD One, as our DM is planning to make exhaustion more prominent in this rather harsh setting.
Example pictures are from Raiders of the Serpent Sea Player’s Guide. Some of the animal artwork used I found at fired earth tumblr and Joss Frazier (Ari Usni), whose deviantart is dead, and vectorized. These character sheets are for personal use only.
Enjoy and have fun on your raids to the Baendur kingdoms!
Update, 5th March 2024: I made a Ship Sheet for the campaign as well. It allows you to track everything related to your water vehicle in the game. This one is not PDF fillable, because I currently have no time to do that.
