Two months after having taught myself how to crochet, I have created a monster. Er, actually, a few of them. The two Daleks I knit last year now have company by this fellow Doctor Who “monster”:

That is of course an “Adipose” from the 4.01 episode “Partners in Crime”. One of the sillier episodes with one of the silliest monsters, but they are so silly that they’re just cute. The crochet pattern is on ravelry. The body was very easy though mine looks a bit more squashed than the one in the instructions. I also had my trouble with the arms & legs, so eventually I just completely improvised them, but they still look pretty good.

Prior to having finished that fat baby, I stumbled upon the book “Creepy Cute Crochet” and was so delighted that I ordered it right away. It has a lot of cute little monsters, two of which I’ve crocheted as well. This is a “Corporate Zombie” which I made for my boyfriend, so he can put it on his desk at work:

Since I had so much green yarn, I also made a cute little Cthulhu:

Here’s the whole herd of cuddly living room monsters:

I’ll probably make some more of the monsters from the Creepy Cute Crochet book and I’ve also been wanting to make another Dalek for ages, but for now I think my next project will be knitted socks again. Always the same problem with these hobbies: so many ideas, so little time!
